Not my fav

As of Wednesday, November 14th, I am officially on a clear liquid diet. The first day wasn't too bad. I was really busy with work so time flew. I also went to my Pre-Op appointment and that was very informative and it was nice to know what to expect. With starting my liquid diet and having to get organized at work so that nothing would fall through as well as other situations, it was a bit overwhelming. I think the magnitude of what I am doing really hit home. After I spoke with the surgeon, the coordinator, the dietician and the exercise specialist, it became very VERY real. I'm not anxious...ok..maybe a little. But I trust that what I am doing is the right thing for me and I hope others will trust that. I've had a lot of support thus far and I hope it continues. This is life long.

On Thursday, I was driving down to Cedar to spend time with family and all I can do is sit there and drink my protein shake. I really couldn't take my mind off of how not good that protein shake was. But I got through it fairly unscathed. Today is a different story. I just can't gag it down. Well, I can..I just chose not to. I'm trying to find ways to make it bareable. I can only have chicken broth or buillion, sugar free jello, water and Crystal Lite until Monday. I think the buillion is what is saving me. It tastest like food whereas the protein shake tastes like strawberry flavored dirt. It's only three days more. I think I'll survive.

Come Monday, I am going to go shopping for food and re-stock fridge and pantry so that I'll have it available after surgery. I will be staying with my aunt for a little under a week. I'll be able to have things like Cream of Wheat and cream soups, with the added protein shakes but I think I'll be able to add things to it to help out the flavor.
They said I am going to very sore for a couple of days but every hour that I am awake, I should do some sort of walking to prevent blood clots in my legs. THAT would not be good.
My brother is coming up from Cedar the day before the surgery and then will be there for the surgery and help me get settled at my aunts house. He's rocks!

Well, that is all for today. Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll try and write before and after my surgery. ....well...sometime after my surgery.
Love you all!
